Learn to Curl! November 2nd and 3rd
Andrew Myers
The start of the 2024/2025 curling season is right around the corner and so is our first Learn to Curl for the season! The Midland Curling Club invites anyone 11 years of age, or older, to come experience the sport of curling November 2nd and 3rd from 1PM to 3PM. Participants will receive roughly 45 minutes of on-ice time learning how to slide out of the hack, deliver a stone down the ice, sweeping stones and other curling basics.
No equipment required! All needed items are available for use at the curling club.
While walk-ins are welcome, participants are encouraged to sign up ahead of time either at the Greater Midland Community Center, or online via the community center website. The cost is $15 and if you decide to sign up for our Novice Instructional League, your Learn to Curl fee will be credited toward the cost of the league.
In addition, if you have completed our Novice Instructional League but would like more coaching before joining a competitive league we are now offering a Developmental League that is focused on the finer details of the game, such as etiquette, strategy and pace of play. The Developmental League is ran like a competitive league but with seasoned curlers acting as coaches, mentors and helping hands with the goal of making you feel comfortable to make the leap into one of our competitive leagues. The Developmental League can also be registered for in person at the Greater Midland Community Center or online via the community center website.
